After much consideration, Imani Christian Theological Institute will no
longer attempt to offer degrees. Instead, Imani will work through
established Christian Colleges and Universities, offering distant
learning degree opportunities. Students that attend Imani Christian
Theological Institute will be classified in one of three tracts,
certification, advance certification or professional. The Programs
offered through Imani are, Christian Education, Church Administration,
Christian Counseling, Urban Missions, and Chaplaincy. All students in
the certification tract will be expected to attend required classes and
complete projects. Advance certification students will be required to
complete required classes, a field placement and an oral presentation.
Professional students will be required to complete a group project
entitled "Called Beyond Our Walls", document three years experience in
their chosen tract, and teach at least two classes to
certification/advance certification students.
The certification tract will take a full time student about thirty
months to complete. The advance tract is an eighteen-month program for
a full time student. All Professional tract students should complete
their program in thirty-six months.
Students that wish to attend Imani Christian Theological Institute and
receive a degree will have to have dual enrollments. We will work with
your college or university to have all of your work completed at Imani,
transferred to meet your graduation requirements. You will receive
certification through Imani. Your degree will be awarded by the
institute of your choice. The staff at Imani will do all we can to
assist you in completing your degree program. Our purpose is to develop
Christian Leaders.
Imani Christian Theological Institute is nondenominational. Imani will
have professional memberships with national and regional Christian
organizations, which will benefit our students. Imani dose not follow
the doctrine of any organization. Imani is a teaching and training
leadership organization that has its own Board of Directors, Mission
Statement, and philosophy. We use the Christian Bible as the foundation
of everything we do. We do not seek accreditation from any
organization, no matter how established it is. Our institution will
provide Instructors that have degrees from accredited institutions, and
who have proven leadership in Christian discipleship. Imani will have
independent Christian leaders provide a review of the institution and
its programs once every three years. The findings of this review will
be available to the general public.
Imani will, first and foremost, prepare Christian leaders to work in the
Church and community as Spiritual Guides, carrying forth the work and
teachings of Jesus Christ.
